Tanglewood Estate Wedding Celebrant: Jess and Matt
The Mornington Peninsula wedding venue, Tanglewood Estate was the location for Jess and Matt’s wedding. They hired the ‘best wedding celebrant’ going around after meeting me at the Melbourne Wedding & Bride Bridal Expo. Even though I am a celebrant in the Yarra Valley, I certainly travel all around Victoria to create awesome ceremonies for my couples.
It was a picture-perfect day in January for their wedding ceremony at Tanglewood Estate. They chose the chapel to marry; a rustic, wooden and relocated chapel that has been renovated. The light-filled chapel has windows to the bay amongst the natural environment. Upon entering, I immediately noticed the gorgeous blooms by Naomi Rose Floral Design styling the intimate chapel. I gathered the boys, dressed by Saba to run through those last-minute details. Whilst waiting for the bride, I spent some time talking to Sharne from Aria Photography and was so looking forward to seeing the gallery of the genetically-blessed bride and groom.
Tradtionally late, Jess arrived in her striking Elly Sofocli gown with bridesmaids in Shieke dresses. Jess’ nephew Spencer was also ready to ‘drive’ down the aisle, in a remote-control car, to start the ceremony. After a slight diva moment from our page boy, it was showtime.
Jess and Matt had a fun an emotional ceremony where a friend and the brides mother delivered readings and Matt took some time to articulate his meaningful vows. The couple also referred to the love they both share for their parents in the modern bringing of the couple.
“This beautiful couple didn’t get here all by themselves. They have been loved and cared for by you, their families, depending on you for sustenance, knowledge, guidance, and love. Without you, this day would not be possible. From this day forward, they will likely need your support in different ways, but they will still depend on that support. With this in mind, I ask Mark, Eileen, Michelle and Neil, do you agree to strengthen this marriage by upholding the ideals that Matthew and Jessica are expressing here today with your love and support?”
Upon conclusion of the ceremony, all the guests were asked to make their way outside and form a guard of honour for a petal toss exit. The couple were starting their happily ever after as Mr and Mrs!

Jessica and Matt’s Love Story
Jessica and Matt met online, however Jess was a little embarrassed about this! Jess’ initial impression of Matt was he was very cute with nice eyes and smile and they had lots of interests in common and Matt admired her toned body, looks and smile. Their first date was to dinner at Crown and the words excellent, great and swimmingly described this first encounter. In these early stages of dating, Jess noted that Matt was extremely patient whilst Matt was rapt that she could keep up with him at the gym! It wasn’t long before they fell in love, for Jess it was after a few weeks of dating and for Matt it was when she first cooked him dinner.
Matt proposed on their 2nd year anniversary at Whitehaven Beach in QLD. He arranged a helicopter and photographer. They flew out over heart reef, when over Whitehaven where there was a ‘will you marry me’ sign. They landed and had a champagne picnic on Whitehaven. It was amazing, a memory they will cherish forever.
Matt describes Jess as intelligent, attractive and loyal. She always outs him first with her loving and caring disposition. And, she has taught him how to save money and how to cook. Jess loves Matt’s kind hear, his patience and his loving nature. She also appreciates that Matt always puts her needs first, ensuring she’s happy. He also makes her feel like she’s the only one in the room.
Together they love movie nights, of course watching what Matt wants! They love hiking, cooking and just generally spending time together. In continuing their relationship in marriage they know that communication, encouragement and support will be important as well as taking time for each other. They can’t wait for a long and enjoyable honeymoon, starting their future as husband and wife, getting a puppy and eventually starting a family (one day!).
