Tatra Receptions Celebrant Julie Byrne: Jenna and Rhys
Tatra Receptions, a beautiful wedding venue in the Dandenong Ranges, was the location for the wedding of the gorgeous Jenna and Rhys. With 10 acres of spacious gardens and forest, there are endless photo opportunities. Couples can marry outside in these surrounds or in the light-filled chapel where the outside features through the glass windows.
The couple chose the chapel at Tatra Receptions to wed in front of their 130 guests. Jenna and the bridesmaids entered the chapel to bagpipes playing, paying homage to Scottish heritage. The floral arbour looked absolutely stunning. Woops A Daisy was responsible for the blooms on the day and their work was certainly a feature, including the bouquets. Melbourne Wedding Designers completed these creations with their styling too.
With 4 bridesmaids and 4 groomsmen and 3 children involved, Jenna and Rhys included many friends and family in their bridal party and they also involved their parents through a dedication as part of the ceremony. The bridesmaids wore stunning dark pink dresses which were beautifully complemented by their bouquets.
Jenna wore a dress from Fairy Tales Bridal where the bridesmaids dresses were also purchased and looked not only stunning, but comfortable too! At the conclusion of the laugh-filled ceremony, I asked all guests to make their way outside for a guard of honour petal toss as their recessional. Jenna and Rhys then headed into the gardens with Ash Haase Photography snapping all the beautiful memories.
Jenna and Rhys partied on into the night with Matt Jefferies Entertainment as DJ. I’ve seen some wonderful vision of the packed dance floor and the fabulous dance moves of the bride and groom. If you’re looking for a DJ to entertain you throughout your wedding and for the best night ever, contact Matt.
Marrying these two was an absolute pleasure and a lot of fun. I wish them all the best, cheers to Mr and Mrs D’Arcy.

The Jenna and Rhys Story
Jenna and Rhys met in a bar where they had the first of many dance offs. For their first date they went to a movie that lasted for three hours and never spoke a word. But as they got to know each other in December of 2015, Rhys was impressed that Jen was down to earth and drove a 4×4 and Rhysie was full of random science information.
Their relationship developed and Jen knew it was love when Rhys actually shared his food with her; it doesn’t happen often. And, Rhys organised a proposal but, unfortunately, not a very successful one! He had the worst luck ever, with 3 flight cancellations to Sydney he wasn’t able to complete what he planned but we do know that Jenna said yes!
Jen describes Rhys as charming, extremely generous with a witty sense of humour. He has taught her to push the boundaries and not to be scared of a challenge. Rhys loves that Jen is caring and works hard for the things she believes in. She’s loving, loyal and competitive and has taught him to slow down and enjoy the simple things.
As a couple, they love to eat, food is a source of passion and enjoyment. They also love experiences such as snowboarding, motor bike riding, coffee, more food and lots of adventures. In their marriage they see compromise, positivity and communication us utterly important and they look forward to being fully committed to each other and creating their own family. Health, wealth, adventure, success, family and love is what their future is all about.
