Yering Farm Wines | Melbourne Celebrant Julie | Yarra Valley Wedding
Another Yarra Valley wedding for Melbourne Celebrant Julie, this time at the intimate and rustic Yering Farm Wines. It was also another time where a former English student of mine (from the late 90’s!) contacted me to book me in, once they discovered I was now also a celebrant.
It was a wedding filled with family ties and close friends, including their two children. Sally arrived by horse and cart from Swans on Doongalla and a grand entrance it was as we could see the horse-drawn carriage majestically arriving along the country lane (with a little stop along the way to stem the nerves!). It was smiles aplenty when she alighted the carriage in her gorgeous Leah S Designs gown, supported by her bride tribe and family. Kate Wiggins Photography was there, ready to capture that special moment.
Patiently waiting were the boys and groom Michael in their Formal Red Suits, getting mic’d up with Clique Films who created moving pictures of their ceremony and reception. The music sounded and Sally began her walk down the aisle to her future husband, with her father on her arm and carrying a Lakeside Flowers bouquet and headpiece. As she reached the rustic arbour and ceremony setup, courtesy of Unpolished Hire, we were ready to get married!
Sally and Michael chose a simple ceremony, keeping their vows short and sweet, a great idea when your 2 kids are running around;
“You are my best friend and my one true love. When I’m with you, I feel I can be the person I want to be, and I cannot imagine my life without you. Today, I want to make a promise to you and to myself, in front of our friends and family, to love and honour, protect and respect you for the rest of my life.”
Our kids love their certificates… our eldest is so proud showing “his wedding certificate” off!”
Throughout the ceremony, the kids were loving it! Sally was even ‘gifted’ some stones by her daughter halfway through the ceremony; such moments always get a laugh and keep everybody relaxed. At the conclusion of the ceremony and at the time of the kiss, I often see that the ‘kiss’ becomes a capture-worthy ‘family kiss’ and cuddle when the couple have their own young children. It is always a special moment.
At the recessional, guests were handed eco-friendly confetti to celebrate the nuptials. It would be remiss of me NOT to mention this as I know the hours Sally spent creating these! After the ceremony, the Michael and Sally embarked on a photo session at Alowyn Gardens whilst guests began sharing in their delightful wines. Essential Catering & Events provided the catering and with Yering Farm Wines, decorated the reception space. It certainly had a gorgeous rustic feel.
The couple and their guests celebrated and partied into the night with Music with Memories keeping the dancefloor packed and Alyssa’s Kitchen created the dessert masterpiece for the cutting of the cake. It was certainly a wedding to remember with such a family-oriented vibe. Congrats to the happy couple and to marrying more former students!
