The Farm Yarra Valley Wedding Ceremony | Nicole and Paul

The wedding between Nicole and Paul marked my 1000th wedding as a celebrant! Fifteen years in the wedding industry and lots of love. couples and festivities have been and.

And this wedding ceremony was reflective of everything I love about weddings: a beautiful couple and family, gorgeous pink hues in the colour scheme, a stunning Yarra Valley wedding venue, wonderful suppliers and a personalised and fun celebration.

The outdoor ceremony looked stylish in the rustic setting (photos courtesy of Samantha Elizabeth Photography ). As the ceremony began, we all had a giggle that Paul assisted the flower girls in spreading the petals when walking with them down the aisle. It was too cute! I loved their vows, story, personalised touches, and styling, throughout. Read about how it all came together.

The Love Story

Nicole and Paul met on Bumble in 2020. When Nicole opened the conversation with the Simpsons GIF Paul knew Cupid was firing an arrow his way.

When they met in person, the date started at 4pm and they headed home at 11pm as neither wanted the night to end.

When Paul first laid eyes on Nicole she took his breath away.

The conversation felt easy and free-flowing, and he genuinely didn’t want the evening to end.

She made him laugh, smile and from that moment forward he knew she had to be in his life.

The first thing that stood out to Nicole about Paul, after the wow, he is tall moment, was his humour, his quick wit, and the passion for his career, family and everything in his life.

His demeanour made her feel so comfortable from the very first date.

Definitely a successful start to their relationship and it continued from that very moment.

Their relationship developed and Paul felt it was time to organise a proposal.

Paul wanted to go for a drink after work to celebrate a recent promotion; even though he had successfully and subtly cancelled all of Nicole’s plans for the weekend, she still managed to fit in a dinner with friends.

Nicole reluctantly agreed to leave work early for a drink before the dinner that Paul had told her friends she would not attend. From there, the abduction plan commenced.

Nicole’s paranoia of being late to dinner allowed her to place her work bag in the backseat of the car and not even notice 2 large suitcases Paul had packed.

Concerns were raised on the Bolte Bridge; he assured her she’d make it to dinner; he didn’t say which one.

Nicole started to catch on once they pulled into the airport, and instructions were given to change into a dress Paul had packed.

Paul revealed to Nicole they were going to Byron, as Nicole would not get on a plane without knowing.

After the longest flight in history, with anxiety soaring for both, Paul drove to the accommodation in the rainforest to carry out his master plan.

Nicole walked into a room decorated with roses and balloons, and Paul got down on one knee.

The weekend was then filled with exploring Byron Bay, walking to the lighthouse and visiting distilleries.

Nicole’s kind nature shone through when she suggested they go for dinner to celebrate Paul’s promotion – which was sadly just a cover story!

Paul describes Nicole as stunningly beautiful and seriously out of his league.

She’s fun and adventurous and always brings out the best in him.

He loves Nicole’s contagious smile and how she always knows to cheer him up when he’s down, the cute surprises she always has for him and the way nothing is ever taken for granted.

Nicole is his soulmate and best friend.

Nicole describes Paul as hilarious, thoughtful and loving.

He makes her feel like she’s herself and that she’s safe whenever he is around.

They adore and laugh each other and have taught each other many things; for Paul, he has learnt to turn a house into a home, and for Nicole, she has learnt that car maintenance is NOT optional.

Together, they love drinking cocktails, trying new recipes and travelling, and hope to continue travelling the world together, fill their home with fur babies, and one day start a family.

And as of today, all that will be achieved as husband and wife.

Their Personal Vows

Paul’s Vows

Nicole, from the moment I first laid eyes on you I knew you were special. Seeing you in that green dress took my breath away and I smile every time I think about it. I love periodically going back to beneath driver lane and re-creating our first date. As our lives grow and evolve together that magical spot is the foundation that our life together is built upon. With you every day feels like a new adventure, full of love and surprises; and I hold your love as the most precious gift in my life You’ve brought me out of my shell and taught me that two is better than one. Life is a journey, and you’ve taught me the journey’s a lot more fun not doing it alone. I’m proud of all you’ve achieved in life, the way you conquer your fears and your determination to live your, and now our, best life I can’t wait to start a family with you, and scald you for all the bad habits you teach our puppy. From this day forward, I promise to love you with my whole heart, a love that cannot be expressed in words, only in kisses, excitement, and years of adventure by your side. I promise to always protect you from harm, to stand with you against your troubles, and to look to you when I need protection. I promise to bring you coffee every morning, and one of my shirts to sleep in every night I promise to lift you up when you need height, and shoot you down when you’ve gotten too big for yourself. But most importantly I promise to never stop trying to make you laugh, giggle, roll your eyes or whatever it takes to see your beautiful smile.

Carly’s Vows

From this day forward –
  • I promise always to make you laugh and always to laugh together.

The 5 Star Google Review

I genuinely can’t recommend Julie enough! She fit our vibe perfectly and we heard nothing but good things about our ceremony. Communication leading up to our day and on the day was 10/10! Julie did all the hard work for us and the documents she sent to help us plan our ceremony. I was so nervous about saying my vows but Julie’s reassurance was everything I needed. But she made contingency plans if I were too nervous. We loved her personality from the very first Zoom meeting; very chill and easygoing. She involved our flower girls and gave them certificates as well (which they loved). Overall, we are so, so grateful for Julie and can’t recommend her enough.
