After the expo
The Pakenham Wedding Expo at the Cardinia Cultural Centre was an absolute delight. I’m a big fan of smaller, suburban wedding expos—fewer exhibitors means less overwhelm, more genuine conversations, and plenty of time for couples to ask all the questions (and you know I love a good wedding chat). Plus, there’s no need for couples to battle city traffic—it’s all happening right in their own backyard.
So many lovebirds had just gotten engaged and were starting from scratch, which meant I got to dish out plenty of helpful hints to kick off their planning journey. Wedding Services Melbourne, the fabulous wedding network I’m part of, was also there with an Instagram competition that had people buzzing.
And of course, these events are as much about catching up with my industry friends as they are about meeting couples. Moral of the story? Support your local wedding expos and open days—they’re (usually) free, packed with inspiration, and a great way to start your wedding planning without melting your brain.
