Terms and Conditions
The Celebrant Agrees:
- To provide Registered Marriage Celebrant Services to the couple in accordance with the Marriage Celebrant’s Code of Practice.
- To attend the ceremony at the agreed date, time, and location with a fun and relaxed disposition.
- To organise an alternative, similar registered marriage celebrant (where practicable) if unable to conduct the ceremony due to illness or unforeseen circumstances.
- To provide you with wealth of resources and online questionnaires to plan the ceremony
- To support you throughout the entire process via email and other forms of communication to create your dream ceremony.
- To meet with you via Zoom to run through everything and rehearse.
- To complete and submit all legal documents to ensure you are legally married.
- To provide a sound system and microphone where requested or included in the package. This equipment is not to be used in the rain.
- To conduct a risk management assessment to ensure a safe workplace and determine whether the ceremony will proceed (e.g., in cases of bushfires or extreme weather conditions).
To provide MC services if booked, including:
- Supplying resources to help plan the reception.
- Curating a detailed run sheet with the venue and suppliers
- Organising and liaising with suppliers at the reception.
- Conducting all announcements, games, and speeches.
- Staying until the formalities are complete and the dancing begins.
- Remaining until the end of the reception will incur an extra charge
Payment, Cancellations & Postponements:
- A non-refundable booking fee is required to secure the date and is retained in case of cancellation. If the celebrant is able to refill this date and timeslot, a partial refund may be given.
- The full balance of the celebrant’s fee is due 8 weeks before the ceremony. Failure to pay in full by this deadline may result in the booking being cancelled without a refund.
- If the couple cancels the ceremony:
- More than 8 weeks before the ceremony: only the booking fee is retained.
- Less than 8 weeks before the ceremony: The full fee is required.
- If the couple postpones the ceremony over 6 months out:
- If the celebrant is available for the new date, the booking will be transferred with an additional administration charge.
- If the celebrant is unavailable, the booking fee is retained, but any additional payments made will be refunded.
- If the celebrant cannot perform the ceremony due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, every effort will be made to secure a replacement celebrant of similar style and qualifications.
Force Majeure & Frustration:
- If the ceremony cannot proceed due to government restrictions, natural disasters, pandemics, or other events beyond the control of both parties:
- The booking fee remains non-refundable.
- The couple may reschedule within 12 months at no additional cost if the celebrant is available.
- If the celebrant is unavailable for the rescheduled date, any additional payments made will be refunded (excluding the booking fee).
- If the event is cancelled permanently due to force majeure, standard cancellation terms apply.
Other Terms:
- The celebrant reserves the right to leave the ceremony 30 minutes after the agreed ceremony time if the couple has not arrived.
- The celebrant may use wedding photos for social media and blogs unless the couple requests otherwise in writing.
The Couple Agrees:
- To provide all required documentation legally and logistically and for ceremony choices and inclusions 8 weeks prior, where practicable.
- To communicate with the celebrant and advise of any changes to contact details.
- To provide a copy of their vows before the ceremony.
- To make full payment no later than 8 weeks before the ceremony. If full payment is not received by this deadline, the celebrant may not create the ceremony and finalise legal documentation.
- To advise the celebrant in writing of any changes to the wedding date, time, or location.
- To organise any required permits and fees for venues such as beaches and parks.
- To not be under the influence of substances that impair judgement and understanding during the ceremony.
- To provide two witnesses aged 18 years or older unless organised with the celebrant.
- To cover any additional charges incurred due to a late-starting ceremony (e.g., parking fees and fines).
- To allow the celebrant to use wedding photos for social media and advertising unless stated otherwise.
