Vines of the Yarra Valley Wedding | Yarra Valley Winery Wedding

This stunning wedding venue in Coldstream, Vines of the Yarra Valley, is only 10 minutes from my home and a spectacular place to marry.

This is an ideal choice with a scenic backdrop for your photos and ceremony, a beautiful marquee indoor option, and the possibility to hold your ceremony inside the venue when you have a cocktail reception.

Considering the day Amy and Kane got married was not ideal Melbourne weather, this was so important.

They still could embrace the picturesque backdrop while keeping dry inside.

The couple had a wedding party of 6 with linen and burnt orange tones and acknowledged their parents with a dedication and a presentation of roses to their mothers.

Alen Kontra Photography captured the day brilliantly in ‘hideous’ weather conditions (that’s why you hire the professionals), and Front Row looked after the music throughout the ceremony and evening.

I wish them all the best with their golden boys and new addition.

The Love Story

Amy and Kane met in 2011 through mutual friends when Amy was 17 and Kane was 19.

They became good friends, spending most weekends together at the Lower Plenty Pub and house parties.

They kept in touch over time, where Kane would like every single Instagram photo Amy posted, and the two would wish each other happy birthday on Facebook.

Six years later, Amy slid into Kane’s DMs, and the two decided to meet for a drink at Naked for Satan.

After a few red wines, Kane admitted he had been in love with Amy for some time.

They had their first kiss that night.

Amy’s first impression of Kane was that he was a nice country boy with a kind heart; she noticed he was tall and handsome with a cheeky smile and a big head.

Kane instantly noticed she was late to their catch-up.

But when he saw her again after all those years, she was, as he remembered, a gorgeous girl with cute freckles and long hair; the girl he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

That first official date was at Amy’s house; they sat by the fire on the decking for hours, drinking sangria, talking, and laughing.

The date went very well.

The only reason Kane hadn’t contacted Amy was because he knew Amy would be the girl he married.

Amy was surprised by that statement but wasn’t scared by it. Instead, it gave her butterflies.

In these early stages of dating, for Kane, Amy was independent and knew what she wanted, she had an excitement for life and a love for nature like he did.

For Amy, Kane was honest, romantic, and down to earth and made her ugly laugh.

She knew it was love when she called her parents to tell them she loved Kane and cut her European trip short!

Kane proposed to Amy on the second of January 2023, one day after their 5th anniversary; their favourite place on earth, New Zealand, was on top of a volcano; it was halfway into a 7-hour hike of Mt Tongirro. Thank goodness she said yes!

Kane describes Amy as sassy, thoughtful, and adventurous.

Amy is the most caring and compassionate person he’s ever met; she will always put others first.

She is cheeky, funny, bossy, down-to-earth, and the only person ever to steal his heart and his entire self.

Amy has taught Kane to be open about his thoughts and feelings and to find the positives in everything.

She has helped him become the person he always wanted to be.

Amy describes Kane as loyal, caring, and talented.

Amy loves Kane for the boy he is and the man he has become.

She finds something special in all of the versions of Kane; he makes her feel safe, encouraged and very loved.

Kane has taught Amy the art of fly fishing, to be patient (waited 5 years for the proposal), the importance of compromise and what it truly means to be in love.

They love hiking, travelling, camping, kayaking, watching scary movies, and spending time with their golden boys, Harley and Rupert.

They look forward to starting a new chapter of their lives together and for people to stop asking them when they are getting married!

Amy and Kane can’t wait to have their baby, grow their family and for all the new adventures to come our way.

They hope to hike and camp their way around the world, and as of today, that will be as husband and wife.

The Personal Vows

Kane’s Vows

Amy, from the day I met you, I thought you were the most amazing, cheeky, and fun-loving woman I had met. Not long after, I knew I wanted to marry you one day. After 6 years of being friends, I was lucky enough to take you on a date and this only confirmed, beyond doubt, my feelings. I am so proud of you for being my wife and starting a family with you as I know you will be the best, beautiful mother. There is no other place I would rather be than right here with you in this moment, becoming your husband. I promise to always be there for you and stick by your side, especially when times are tough. I promise to give you my everything, and more, I promise not to leave my clothes on the floor and my shoes on the couch, But, mostly, I promise to be the husband you deserve and continue to fall in love with you more and more each day.

Amy’s Vows

Kane, standing with you in this moment feels like a dream come true. Although it wasn’t exactly love at first sight, it was fate that brought us together. We were only teenagers the first time we met, although you were in the friend zone, I still sore you for the warm, caring, charming country boy that you were. 6 years later we were both single, and lucky enough for our paths to cross again, this time we began to explore the possibilities of being more than friends. It wasn’t long until you were out of the friend zone and into my heart, as I realised you were the one for me. I am thankful every day for that second chance, to reconnect and see you for the loving, generous, loyal, funny, intelligent, talented man you have become. We have such a special relationship fueled by our immature sense of humour and inside jokes, a desire for adventure and the outdoors, an obsession with our golden fur babies Harley and Rupert and a deep love and respect for each other than continues to grow each day. I am so grateful for the beautiful life we have created together so far and beyond excited to enter this next stage of our lives as husband and wife and soon to be mum and dad. Together we will face the future without fear because we will always be by each other’s side. Whether we are climbing a mountain, exploring a new country, browsing the isles of Bunnings or Netflix and chilling, anywhere with you is everywhere I want to be. I promise to love you, respect you and support you, even when you snooze your alarm. I promise to pack your toothbrush when we go camping because I know you won’t. I promise to not get caught up in petty arguments even when you forget something I have told you multiple times. And I promise to remember neither one of us is perfect, only perfect for each other. You are my Home and adventure all at once. I love you.
